tüftl is derived from a German word for tinkering or fixing things "tüfteln".
By the way: we don't mind which way you write it. Not everyone has a german keyboard after all (although ü should be ALT+129)..
If you are the person that always comes up with crazy new things to build but sometimes lack the skills, the place or the tools to build it: tueftl is for you! If you are an experienced tinkerer and builder and like to share your knowledge and skills with an open community: tueftl is also for you! The idea is to get like minded people connected and to start building without constraint!

We also offer you a place to freelance with the skills you have honed if you want to make a living with tinkering. Here you provide services which you can set up in your profile. These can range from very simple things like fixing a sink to extremely complex stuff, e.g. like building a custom robot.

Dann kannst du deine Dienste auch als Auftragstüftler anbieten wenn du vom Tüfteln leben willst! Du bietest für ein verhandeltes Endgeld deine Kenntnisse (die du in deinem Profil angeben kannst an) an.
